So you’ve heard about IV vitamins and now you’re excited to get started! Right. Away. We understand that you’re excited and anxious to get started with treatments quickly, but our job as Naturopathic Doctors is to ensure that your treatments will be safe and effective.
1- Keeping You Safe
IV (intravenous) therapy involves administering vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly into the bloodstream. While these treatments are generally safe when correctly performed, they do carry some risks. By having an initial consultation with one of our Naturopathic Doctors, we help ensure that any treatment you receive will be safe for you. We will review your allergies, current medications and natural supplements to ensure that there won’t be any interactions or unpleasant side-effects. We will also send you for some basic blood work to ensure healthy kidney and liver function.
2- Getting Good Results
Our goal is to recommend the most appropriate and effective treatment for your personal needs. During an initial consultation we will review your health concerns and your health goals. We will also delve into your diet, lifestyle, sleep and stress. From there, we’ll be able to recommend which type of IV you’ll most benefit from and well as the frequency and duration of treatments for best results. You can read more about our IV Treatment Options here.
3- Your Overall Health
Finally, IV therapy is not a cure all. There are times when IV therapy can be very effective but there are times when there is something that needs to be addressed first before IV therapy can be used. Our NDs are trained to identify this and can help you come up with an alternate treatment plan.
Our Naturopathic Doctors have a wide range of tools that they treat with, IV being only one part of a whole treatment plan. By having a clear picture of what you are experiencing your Naturopathic Doctor can put together a complete treatment plan to address your concerns. Our recommendations may include: specialized testing for hormone imbalances, food sensitivities and nutrient deficiencies. We’ll also provide a personalized plan with diet recommendations, key nutritional supplements and lifestyle recommendations.
